On Tuesday, June 13th we are flooding our state representatives with calls about voting reform. New York currently has some of the most restrictive voting laws in the country and currently ranks 41st in voter turnout. It's time to modernize our antiquated system of voting by introducing:
- Automatic Voter Registration
- Early Voting
- Voting Rights for Parolees
- Same Day Registration
- Online Registration
- Updated Party Enrollment Deadlines

“Hello. My name is [YOUR NAME]. I am a constituent of [REP]. As I’m sure [REP] would agree, voting is a fundamental right of every citizen, and we should be doing everything we can to strengthen and expand that right. It’s very important to me that everyone in our community has the ability to participate in the political process, which is why I’m asking [REP] to support automatic voter registration and early voting (S2950).
I also ask that [REP] supports the restoration of voting rights for parolees and registration deadlines that allow individuals to change their party affiliation closer to election day.
These are common sense reforms that would break down many of the barriers that keep people from engaging in the political process. I encourage [REP] to stand behind these voting reforms and do everything in [HIS/HER] power to protect and strengthen our democratic rights."
